Intersex and Faith

The mission at lntersex and Faith is: “Working together to support, advocate with, and educate others about intersex people to help faith communities welcome those born outside the male/female binary.”

lntersex & Faith was incorporated as a nonprofit in Tennessee in 2017, but members Lianne and Megan have been working together giving presentations, writing blog posts, giving interviews, and writing books for at least the last eight years.

The mission at lntersex and Faith is: “Working together to support, advocate with, and educate others about intersex people to help faith communities welcome those born outside the male/female binary.” They believe that some of the mistreatment of intersex people is due to assumptions about binary gender rooted in religious traditions and texts. They believe that by meeting religious people where they are, using their own religious texts and traditions, we can change minds and hearts to become more welcoming and accepting of intersex people as they are.
