Around the world, people are targeted for violence and discrimination because of their actual or perceived sexual orientation and gender identity. Lesbians, transgender and other gender non-conforming peoplein both the global North and Southare particularly at risk. This violence, including rape, extrajudicial killings and torture is omnipresent and is often undocumented and underreported. Panelists will discuss research and activist and UN responses.
