Astraea prioritizes movements led by those voices that are most often silenced, but have always been at the forefront of grassroots movements. In 2018,

$1.6M+ was awarded to groups led by trans and gender non-conforming people.

Black- and People-of-Color-led organizing

99% of our U.S. funding over the last year went to LGBTQI Black and People of Color-led groups. At Astraea, we have always been committed to amplifying the organizing, advocacy, and voices of Black people and People of Color, who are disproportionately affected by racist policies and practices.
