The Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice is looking for an expert in grants management software, particularly Blackbaud Grantmaking, to consult for approximately 40 hours from January 2019 through February 2019 (roughly 8 hours week/5 weeks).

Organization Description

The Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice works to advance LGBTQI human rights around the globe. We support brilliant and brave grantee partners who challenge oppression and seed change. We work for racial, economic, social, and gender justice because we all deserve to live our lives freely, without fear, and with dignity.

The first grantmaker to hundreds of organizations, Astraea plays a catalytic role for LGBTQI groups around the world – particularly those led by lesbian and queer women, trans and gender non-conforming folks, intersex people, and people of color. Our grantmaking, capacity building, media and communications, and philanthropic advocacy programs support their work to challenge oppression and claim rights. A proud public foundation and one of the first women’s funds in the world, in our 41 year history we have granted over $40 million to LGBTQI activists and artists.

Position Summary

The Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice is looking for an expert in grants management software, particularly Blackbaud Grantmaking, to consult for approximately 40 hours from January 2019 through February 2019 (roughly 8 hours week/5 weeks).

After working for more than a year, the Astraea Grants Management team is opening up our first online applications using Blackbaud Grantmaking (we migrated from GiftsClassic to GiftsOnline/BBG spring of 2018). We need someone with strong experience working in Blackbaud Grantmaking, including its Forms Manager and the Blueprint module, to help us with this process. This consultant will:

  • Build 3-4 kinds of applications in our system, using Blueprint and the current International Fund application and LOI that we have built in English as templates. This will require building a few versions of our applications in Spanish and French. We will provide all translated answers and questions in Spanish and French, but the consultant must be able to efficiently input these phrases into the right classifications in Blackbaud Forms Manager even if they do not speak/write those languages. Language capacity is a plus.

  • Review reporting templates and build new ones

  • Build useful report templates for data analysis

  • Help troubleshoot our first users’ experiences

New York City location, to be able to meet in-person, is preferred. Consultant should be able to do at least 5 hours a week during business hours (9-6 pm) and be available to meet with Astraea staff regularly; other work can be done outside of business hours if need be.

Please send a cv, per-hour rate, and 2 references of people with whom you have worked on Blackbaud Grantmaking to: jobs@astraeafoundation.org and mchatterji@astraeafoundation.org. Deadline for applications is January 21, 2019.
