Yolanda Retter Memorial Fund

The Yolanda Retter Memorial Fund was established to honor the life of Yolanda Retter, an unabashed advocate for lesbians of color, and a noted author and archivist.

Yolanda was a leading advocate who helped establish the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center. Yolanda also worked for lesbian liberation as an activist with Latin American Lesbians of Los Angeles and Connexxus Women's Center/Centro de Mujeres. A self-described herstorian, Yolanda set up the Lesbian History Project, a web-based archive, and served as librarian and archivist at the UCLA Chicano Studies Resource Center.
