Discrimination against LGBTQI people is codified in law around the world. Same-sex sexual relations are illegal in more than 40% of countries; in 10 countries, being LGBTQI is grounds for life imprisonment or execution. Even in places with legal equality, LGBTQI people continue to face systemic human rights violations.

Grantee partners work for anti-discrimination protections in local and national law, fighting for family protections including same-sex marriage and adoption rights, and seek equality and recognition in health, education and other policy arenas.
