Water continually falling will wear hard rock hollow. — Plutarch

At this time of reflection, consider what you have accomplished.

With your support to Astraea, 198 organizations and individuals in 47 countries and 120 cities around the world received $2.2 million in funding to promote LGBTI social, economic and human rights. These organizations reach tens of thousands of individuals - spurring greater awareness, action and change.

And as many drops of water collectively and over time wear down the stone, so too the efforts of all Astraea donors, advocates and grantee partners are wearing down the barriers to freedom and peace for all people.

From 7 activists to 1,000 and growing...Here's just one example of how your gift to Astraea impacts so many:

Lala Camp was conceived in 2006 at Astraea's Giving and Activism Retreat when seven Mandarin-speaking activists envisioned an empowered network of leaders across the region. Then they made it a reality. The first Lala leadership institute in Southeastern China gathered more than 100 lesbian and trangender activists. And only one year later, in October 2008, Lala Camp spanned five Chinese cities with 150 organizers from 35 cities in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the United States gathering nearly 1,000 people in a call to activism.

Thanks to the power of collective action, Lala Camp and nearly 200 other organizations are able to further mobilize people to strengthen the global LGBTI movement and literally change our world. Your support, combined, made it possible.

Please continue the journey with us by making a year-end contribution or gift in honor of a friend or loved one. Less than .3% of all U.S. and International foundation funding supports LGBTI causes. While the current economic conditions impact us all, for Astraea-funded organizations, your gift means survival. If you have already made your gift, we thank you.

In Peace,
