Meet a Grantee: Gays And Lesbians Of Zimbabwe (GALZ)

GALZ works for social acceptance of sexual minorities and the repeal of homophobic legislation in Zimbabwe. The group successfully sparked public debate around the need for legal protections for LGBT people, and made important alliances with human rights and women’s groups in moving the country towards constitutional reform. To respond to the backlash to these successes, GALZ has ramped up their human rights trainings and holds safety trainings for LGBTI people.
